Teeth Whitening Raipur: Is This Procedure Safe for You, Ask Our Dentist

To whiten your teeth, there are many systems and whitening products, including whitening toothpaste, gels, and strips and whitening products obtained directly from the dentist.
Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy teeth and gums. Individuals with yellow teeth are the ones that get the best results. However, this procedure is not recommended for all.

How long does teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is not permanent. People who expose their teeth to foods and beverages that cause a change of true white colour due to which whitening effect lasts only a month. Those who avoid foods and drinks that stain can benefit from teeth whitening for a year or more. The degree of whiteness varies from individual to individual depending on the condition of the teeth, the level of staining, and the type of bleaching system used.

Who should not undergo the teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is not recommended or is less effective in the following circumstances:

Issues of age and pregnancy. Bleaching is not recommended for children under 16 years. This is because of the room of the pulp or nerve of the tooth grows up to this age. Teeth whitening under this condition could irritate the pulp or cause an extreme sensitivity. Teeth whitening is not recommended for women who are pregnant or lactating.

Teeth sensitivity and allergies. People with sensitive teeth and inflamed gums and/or defective restorations should consult your dentist before using a tooth whitening system. Teeth allergic to peroxide (the whitening agent) should not use a whitening product.

Gum disease, worn enamel, cavities and exposed roots. People with gum disease or teeth with worn enamel are generally discouraged from undergoing a teeth whitening procedure. Cavities must be treated before any whitening procedure. In addition, whitening procedures do not function on exposed roots of teeth, because the roots do not have a layer of enamel.

Fillings, crowns and other restorations. Tooth-colored fillings and resin composite materials used in prosthetics (crowns, veneers, bonding, bridges) do not whiten. Therefore, use a bleaching agent on the teeth that contain restorations will result in uneven whitening, and in this case, will make the teeth whiter without restoration of those with restorations. Any whitening procedure should be performed prior to placement of restorations. Individuals with many restorations can benefit from veneers or crowns rather than a tooth whitening system. Only the dentist can advise what is best depending on the case.

Unrealistic expectations. Individuals who expect to have a new "blinding white" may be disappointed by the results. Smokers should be aware that the results will be limited.

Stained teeth. The yellow teeth respond well to whitening, brown teeth respond less well and stained teeth do not respond well to bleaching. Teeth that have dark stains may be better candidates for another aesthetic option, such as crowns, dental veneers etc.

The risks associated with teeth whitening
